These are the elements of a good syllabus. Please remember that your syllabus sets the tone for your class and creates your contract with your students. Your syllabus should include:

- Full Contact Information:
- Professor's Name
- Phone
- Schedule of Classes and Office Hours
- Contact Information for your Department Chair, Dean, and Equity Officer
- Class Description
- Class Objectives
- Class Learning Outcomes
- Materials Needed for Class
- Include ISBN's for Books
- Policies and Procedures
- Attendance
- Turning in Work
- Behavior in the Classroom

If you are experiencing difficulty in your course, your first obligation is to work directly with your instructor to resolve the issue. If you are unable to settle your concerns with the assistance of your instructor, you may contact the Department Chairs (Dr. Tammy Powley, [email protected]) or (Dr. Katherine Piatchek, [email protected]), who will assist you or advise you about contacting the Academic Dean (Dr. Scott Stein, [email protected]) or Vice President (Dr. Heather Belmont, hbelmont@irsc.edu).
