CRW I and II Instructor: Suchi Banerjee Mondays and Wednesdays: 11.00-12.15 Main Campus This course is designed to introduce writers to the craft and technique of poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction. In this class we will learn how to read “like a writer”, create our own creative text, and help other students by critiquing their work and offering substantial feedback through regular workshops. Students will also learn how publishing works in real life and how they can publish their work.

What do zombies, Bollywood, and Regency England have in common? They are all part of a new Composition II class offered next semester at Indian River State College. ENC1102-11-012 Composition II will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 on main campus and is themed around Jane Austen in Hollywood. Students will be provided a free hardcopy book from the IRSC library to use for the semester and study the cultural crossings between the writing of Jane Austen and Hollywood’s take on her narratives, from zombie literary genres to Keira Knightly as Austen’s famous heroine, Elizabeth Bennet.
